BashStyle-NG

=== Introduction ===

BashStyle-NG consists of a graphical tool and a functionchain.

The graphical tool (bashstyle) is used to easily change a huge amount options
regarding Bash, Readline, VIm and Nano. The configurtion is stored using ConfigOBJ.

The functionchain is used to realize the setup when starting a new Bash.
Besides a diversity of additional functions or wrappers is provided.

Another thing shipped is dirinfo (a simple, in-progress directory-indexing
mechanism for the shell), aswell as a first-run-wizard.

12 different prompt-styles are shipped, all of them can be modified using the
GUIs built-in custom-prompt-builder (CPB).

Every option and every function is described in the documentation.

Changes since 7.12.1:

Overview of changes in v8.00 "We're Getting High With The Rhythm"

--- Important Note #1 ---

This release switched from GConf based configuration to ConfigObj.

Advantages:
    - *much* faster startup from terminal
    - usable from both python (ConfigObj) and Bash (ini-parser)
      [read: all options could be changed from Bash now, too]
    - bs-ng-profiler and rc-generator no longer required

Disadvantages:
    - you have to fully re-setup BashStyle-NG (both GUI and Wizard)

--- Important Note #2 ---

This release requires GTK+3 / Python-GI

=== Bug fixes ===
* #128 (ui):
    fixed C-P-B (Custom Prompt Builder) showing no longer existent
    themes (and theme-code) from the "Choose Style to modify:" combo-box
* #129 (configure):
    when configured via debian/rules, configure got the prefix wrong
* #130 (profile):
    display-managers like XDM don't source /etc/profile.d/*,
    so let nx-rc self-check, whether our profile was sourced
* #131 (readline/vim/nano):
    don't create an rc for readline, vim or nano, if one is already going
    to be created (fixes annoying issues when opening splitvt or two
    terminals at a time)
* #132 (show_system_load):
    enforce LANG=C when calling uptime, so that it properly works in all cases
* #133 (toolbox/about):
    fix the bug that the toolbox and about-dialog could only
    be properly invoked once per session
* #134 (configure):
    fix detection of gir-repository-path on x86_64 (tested on Fedora 18)
* #135 (functions):
    define all functions as such, to prevent errors on startup if a vendor
    alias has the same name then a BS-NG function (eg: ll on Fedora)
* #136 (make):
    fixed uninstallation of BS-NG
* #137 (debian/control):
    make debian package depend on gir1.2-gtk-3.0

=== Added Features ===
* configure can now check for GIR Repositories
* configure can now check for python sub-modules
* options like aliases can now be reverted to previous user-value
  or reset to factory defaults in the user interface
* -n param for 'randomfile' (exec randomfile N times)
* 'jump' feature (jump between directories, uses dirinfo database)
* 'assign' function
* 'bsng-help' function (auto-generates help messages)

=== Removed Features ===
* bs-ng-profiler (no longer required)
* rcgenerator (no longer required)

=== Misc changes ===
* shifted around some paths
  + DATADIR/rc/bin => PREFIX/bin
  + DATADIR/rc/opt => DATADIR/bin

* simplified debian/rules
* updated debian/docs

* several small fixups and improvements in the docs
  [chapters 00 - 04, 06 - 07]

* majorly improved the profile (/etc/profile.d/bashstyle.sh)

* split all functions into own scripts

* updated all copyright year notices to "2007 - 2013"

* modularized user-interface code
* many automatisms, saving lots of code for user-interface

The first beta of Sawfish 1.9.0 and the first release of Sawfish fully developed on Tuxfamily has just been released :)

If you'd like to know more, visit http://sawfish.wikia.com/wiki/2011_07_3 … 0_released

Regards

Hmm... another feature-request:

What about adding the possibility to be subscribed to a ML, but not receive mails? (some people read it at GMane) Or to receive a daily/weekly digest instead?

Regards

Would be nice, if Tuxfamily would get this feature in the future.

Thanks in advance

Will you have a look at this? Would be really nice.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

we just released Sawfish 1.8.0. The last release developed on GNOME.org... so a new era begins: Sawfish @ Tuxfamily.org :)

You can find all infos about the new release here: http://sawfish.wikia.com/wiki/2011_03_1 … 0_released

Status of GNOME.org >> Tuxfamily.org migration:

ML: setup, not yet in use
BT: setup, not yet in use (sawfish.tuxfamily.org/flyspray)
GIT: setup, in use for librep, rep-gtk and sawfish-pager. sawfish itself will follow soon. (needed a release before moving GIT)
Wiki: will stay at Wikia.
Homepage: (sawfish.tuxfamily.org) under construction (locally)
Releases: hosted at Tuxfamily since 1.6x
Themes: moved from Sourceforge to Tuxfamily, but a wiki-bot to update the links needs to be written.

So... we arrived in the country where the penguins drink Bordeaux all day :)

Hi all,

I thought It would be a good idea to let the GIT-Browser display a full, clonable link to the repo.
Currently it only shows the relative one (say "sawfishpager/pager.git' in top and bottom).

Well, Mailman provides public archives, so I thought of a feature like that.

Check "Downloadable Version" at: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/sawfish-list/

(Ahh.. and the extra "View by" filters would be nice, too, though not as important as the GZiped archive)

Hi all,

I just wanted to ask, whether there's a way to get a TGZ archive of a mailing-list archive, just as mailman provides them.

If not, I would like to request it :)

Yeah. Since TF is my trusted project hoster, I asked the rest of the Sawfish team whether it's OK to switch (not much replies yet, but the Co-Maintainer is OK).

So I just wanted to tell you that it seems Sawfish leaves GNOME behind to switch to where the happy penguins live :)

Still I'm doing several tests on TF, before the switch (Tarball releases are already on TF since last year), so it might take 1 or 2 months.

Just wanted to inform you. Viva la TF!

Hi all,

Just wanted to say that Sawfishs new home is at Tuxfamily. Atleast for the Releases. We moved away from SF.net because of that "evil country" and "axis of doom" things in the US-laws.

So 1.6.2 is the first Sawfish release hosted on Tuxfamily, for more infos visit our wiki: http://sawfish.wikia.com.

Lang lebe Frankreich. ("Vive la france" in german) :)

Ok. I'll work on the German Wiki.

I was looking for a free host with ftp support for a long time and I almost gave up.

But then someone told me about TF and voila (<- I'm german that may be wrong) Traffic for me and Packages for the people. ;)

Do you speak German (Frankonian Slang)? This is what we think about people providing a service like TF: "Ja, da legst die nieder"

Thanks a lot. TF-Team

In Mandriva cooker it seems only available for kde4 at the moment ;-)

on kde-look.org is a script which generates an kde3 icon theme, but the svn location of the theme has moved, so it is currently broken ...

Can it  be made as a Gnome theme instead of replacing the existing images ?

... do you mean the extra ones like graveman and gftp? no. theese apps have hardcoded paths to the icons, this makes it impossible to integrate those icons in the theme.

BTW, you forgot to precise the license in each README

Oh, I did it now, I also added the Licensetext into every sub-directory

..... I also uploaded now the Firefox Oxygen Theme made by Jason, hope you'll like it ;)

Oxygen Refit is the Gnome Port of the two KDE Icon Themes Oxygen and Crystal Project.

else you can download it from here

You'll also find Screenshots inside of each subdirectory and a README with installation instructions, if nessacary.

There are 5 SubProjects:
- Oxygen Refit for Gnome
- Oxygen for gFTP
- Oxygen for GnomeBaker
- Oxygen for Graveman!
- Oxygen for GConf-Editor

Future Plans:
Oxygen Refit:

- more app icons
- icons for the applets/sub projects of gnome

Oxygen for Exaile

maybe more.

Tell me what you thing and Have Fun.
