Je me suis rendu compte que le serveur Apache de TuxFamily ne répond pas aux requêtes HEAD sur les sites hébergés, du moins pas sur le nôtre :

→ curl -XHEAD http://plugfr.org

Du coup, ça donne ça : https://updown.io/yfew

Rien de grave, mais c'est assez dommage.
J'imagine qu'il y a une raison technique à ne pas supporter cette méthode, mais je n'arrive pas à la trouver ;)

When looking at the mailing list archives, it seems that Tuxfamily is using MHonArc 2.6.16 to display mails. This seems to be a security issue, according to http://www.mhonarc.org/ there have been some severe problems before MHonArc 2.6.18 ... so could you please upgrade to that version instead? Thanks!

on the page "Details for group", there're the following sections (or more if other options are enabled) :

General information
Tags,
Services : websites, mercurial repo, mailing list

Could it be possible to add a "Download Area" section that would point to the download directory ?
Else, it's hard for the user to find those files (unless you put the link on your own website, but it would be nice to have it on the project page too).

Could we have also a small 'News' section where the project admins could enter a few lines of html text to be displayed to customize the group page ?

Forum login via HTTPS ?

By the way, is it somehow possible to log into this forum via HTTPS? I tried to specify https://forum.tuxfamily.org/login.php manually in my browser, but the "submit" button always points to a non-secure page. Using passwords via a non-secure connection might be ok from my home machine, but it feels very wrong when using a public web access while I am away...

Link to Mercurial repositories is wrong on project pages

I just noticed that the links to Mercurial repositories are wrong on the projects.tuxfamily.org pages.

For example at http://projects.tuxfamily.org/group.pl?name=baller the link to the Mercurial repository points to http://mercurial.tuxfamily.org/baller/main ... when you click on that link, you get a "Not found" error message.

The right link to the repository above is http://mercurial.tuxfamily.org/mercuria … ri/hatari/ ... could somebody please fix this?

What about adding the possibility to be subscribed to a ML, but not receive mails? (some people read it at GMane) Or to receive a daily/weekly digest instead?

I want to map the TuxFamily files to a network location on windows. I tried FTP, it doesn't secure the password and windows told me to use WebDAV for better security. I want to see if TuxFamily can supports it.

I thought It would be a good idea to let the GIT-Browser display a full, clonable link to the repo.
Currently it only shows the relative one (say "sawfishpager/pager.git' in top and bottom).

Yes, it would be possible to install some PHP bugtracker right into the projects webspace, but this would also mean, each project has to keep the software updated, so noone may exploit security holes.

There was a discussion a while back (which I read via Google translation) about the possibility of adding forge-like features to TuxFamily.

I am not sure where this ended up, but I think a forge would be a valuable addition to TuxFamily's offerings. (Translation: I personally would find it very useful if TuxFamily had a forge I could use for my project :) ).

If Trac, FusionForge, LibreSource. etc. are too big, maybe Indefero would work? I've been experimenting with the online demo version and it seems to work well.

[OK] enable gzip/deflate compression for Apache

I suggest enabling gzip/deflate compression on TuxFamily's Apache webserver so that we can reduce bandwidth consumption.

For example, here are the bandwidth savings for the http://tuxfamily.org/en/about webpage:

Actual Page Size: 12 KB
Size if Gzipped: 4 KB
Potential Savings: 66.67%

See these instructions on enabling mod_gzip or mod_deflate for Apache.
